REVIEW: Parocks Luxury Hotel & Spa

If you seek a serene sanctuary in Paros with spellbinding views of the sea, then look no further than Parocks. This sublime establishment is designed for those who crave tranquillity, opulent aesthetics, and lavishness in the most unspoiled and pure of surroundings.

One with the wild, rocky landscape that inspired its name, Parocks overlooks the infinite blue of the Aegean Sea.

The much anticipated Parocks opened in May 2022, and we were fortunate enough to experience this place during the opening.

First Impressions & Setting

Parocks offers a serene escape from the bustling side of Paros island. Its clean and minimalist architecture exudes an art gallery ambience that will leave you breathless. The design concept was masterfully crafted by the talented minds behind Stone and Walls. Indeed, a visit to Parocks will inspire a home decor makeover (or at least it did for me).

The attention to detail is evident in every element of the hotel. From the interplay of light and shadow to the evolving ambience that changes throughout the day, the beauty of Parocks is undeniable. Each photograph captured a unique moment that would transform with the rising and setting of the sun.

This luxury boutique hotel has an open plan that exudes a laid-back and luxurious vibe. The restaurant and bar seamlessly merge with the main pool area, creating the perfect setting for a delightful cabana cocktail.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a refreshing drink infused with floral notes. Throughout our stay, Alexandros, the Hotel Manager, ensured that every detail was taken care of, making our experience at Parocks unforgettable.

Rooms

We stayed in the 'Signature Sea View Suites with private pool'. These spacious and stylish suites boast a private terrace with an outdoor dining table, a lounge area, and a generously sized private pool, all overlooking the picturesque Aegean Sea. Upon arrival, we were delighted to discover a lovely welcome offer consisting of fresh fruit, a bottle of wine, and a spa taster session.

The room itself adheres to a neutral theme with accents of muted clay colours. The indoor lounge area provides ample seating, a stocked mini-bar, and a Nespresso machine for our convenience. Additionally, there is a separate dressing room area and a luxurious double-sink bathroom complete with high-end amenities. Of course, a comfortable king-size bed, a large TV, and an overall excellent architectural vibe complemented our stay. Premium touches, such as soft bed linens, stylish accents, and subtle textured furnishings, adorn the rooms.

We felt incredibly fortunate that our room was in close proximity to the main area. Although navigating this boutique hotel is relatively easy, our suite's location allowed us to keep an eye on the bustling scene, making it convenient to determine when it was an acceptable time to visit the restaurant.

One of the key features we absolutely adored was how the stunning areas of the room were illuminated during sunrise. The Marshall Bluetooth Speakers were also a lovely touch, enabling us to enjoy a glass of wine while listening to our curated summer playlist.

Furthermore, the WiFi was exceptional. As digital nomads, it's crucial for us to have reliable internet connectivity, and the seamless working provided by the high-speed WiFi was greatly appreciated.

Facilities

Firstly, I must note that during our visit to Parocks, it had only been open for two weeks. As a result, some facilities were not yet available, as they were still undergoing maintenance. However, the exceptional team at Parocks went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a massage at their temporary spa, which was absolutely sensational. As our trip to Greece came to a close, a deep tissue back massage was precisely what I needed to unwind.

Although they were not open at the time of our visit, Parocks will soon feature a fitness space and a magnificent spa, complete with a steam room, sauna, and pool. In the meantime, the main pool is perfect for a refreshing dip, and the entire Paros island awaits exploration.

Food

Let's begin with the most important meal of the day: Breakfast. Initially, I was uncertain as we were not given menus. However, the gracious waitress offered us the opportunity to specify our preferences, which made the service feel exceptionally personalized. This allowed the chef to create something tailored to our liking. In addition to our order, a delightful selection of cold cuts and delectable pastries was presented to our table every morning.

Lunch and dinner were equally exquisite and served in the same restaurant. We savoured everything from freshly caught seafood, and prime-cut meats, to traditional Greek desserts. I discovered a newfound appreciation for 'Ekmek' as my preferred summer dessert. In the true spirit of European summer, we selected a wine to accompany each meal, recommended by the knowledgeable staff.

In summary, every dish we tasted at Parocks was scrumptious. The congenial team managing the bar and restaurant elevated our experience even further, making it exceptionally delightful.

Parocks restaurant pursues a creative approach to traditional Greek flavors. Influenced by international gastronomic trends, it serves modern cuisine based on local ingredients.

Overall Immerse yourself in a designer's dream, where appreciation for architectural elements, form, light, and shadow are paramount. The meticulous attention to detail at Parocks is awe-inspiring, creating an idyllic getaway for couples seeking a respite from the hustle and bustle of Greece's busiest destinations.

Although a few final touches are still in progress, they do not detract from the overall experience. Parocks is slightly removed from the main areas of Paros, so it's advisable to rent a car during your stay.

Allow me to share a personal tip: waking up for sunrise is an absolute must. Trust me, the experience of witnessing the sky transform into a kaleidoscope of pinks and reds is truly breathtaking.
