REVIEW: Parocks Luxury Hotel & Spa

If you're looking for a peaceful haven in Paros with spellbinding views of the sea... look no further.

Parocks is created for those who seek tranquillity, premium aesthetics, and luxury in the most organic and natural of settings.

One with the wild, rocky landscape that inspired its name, Parocks overlooks the infinite blue of the Aegean Sea.

The much anticipated Parocks opened in May 2022, and we were fortunate enough to experience this place during opening.

First Impressions & Setting

Parocks provides an oasis from the busier side of Paros island. Following the 'clean-look' minimalist architecture, you'll feel as though you're entering an art gallery. The design concept was carefully created by the masterminds behind Stone and Walls. When you visit Parocks, it will immediately make you want to rethink your interior back home (well, at least for me it did).

You can easily see the attention to detail, and how elements of the hotel shift throughout the time of day to create something so beautiful. Everytime I would photograph an area, it would then light up so differently come sundown or sunrise. Light and shadows plays a big part in both the design and aesthetic around the hotel.

It's a luxury boutique hotel with an open plan, laidback luxury vibe. The restaurant/bar provides direct access to the main pool area, making for a perfect cocktails in the cabana moment.

As we arrived, we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink with floral notes. Alexandros, the Hotel Manager, checked up on us throughout our stay and made sure everything was taken care of.

We stayed in the 'Signature Sea View Suites with private pool'. These spacious and stylish suites come with their own private terrace with an outdoor dining table, lounge area and generously sized private pool, overlooking the Aegean sea. Upon arrival, we noticed a lovely welcome offer of fresh fruit, a bottle of wine and a spa taster session.

The room itself, followed the neutral theme with accents of muted clay colours. The indoor lounge area has plenty of seating, as well as a stocked mini-bar and Nespresso machine. There's also a separated dressing room area and a double-sink bathroom filled with luxurious amenities. And of course, you have a giant bed, big TV and an overall good architectual vibe. Rooms are adorned with premium touches such as soft bed linens, stylish accents abound and subtle textured furnishings.

We were incredibly lucky that our room was quite close to the main area. Whilst it's actually relatively easy to get around this boutique hotel, it allowed us to peek out from our suite... handy if you want to check whether it's an acceptable time to visit the restaurant.

Key features that I absolutely adored - how beautiful areas of the room lit during sunrise and the the Marshall Bluetooth Speakers (because who doesn't love a glass of wine, followed by your curated Summer playlist?)

Another bonus: the WiFi was excellent. As a digital nomad, this is so important to me, and it allowed seamless working.

Firstly, I'd like to note that when we visited Parocks, it was only within its second week of opening. A few facilities unfortunately weren't available during the time (just as these were still under maintenance). However, the lovely team at Parocks did everything they could to still make our stay memorable. We managed to experience a massage at their temporary spa, which was sensational. Coming to our last few days in Greece, a deep tissue back massage was just what I needed. For when they do open, Parocks will have a fitness centre and an incredible spa complete with a steam room, sauna and pool. That being said, you still have the main pool to take a dip and the entirety of Paros island to venture into.

Starting with the most important meal of the day: Breakfast. At first, I was a bit confused since we weren't given menus. However, the ever-so-kind waitress gave us to option to say what we would like. It was great that the service felt so personalised and allowed the chef to come up with something based on our suggestions. Alongside our order, every morning we were also given a selection of cold cuts and a few pastries for the table.

Lunch and dinner were also served in the same restaurant. We tried everything from fresh locally caught seafood, prime-cut meats and a few traditional Greek desserts. I also found a new love for 'Ekmek' as my go-to summer dessert. In true European Summer fashion, every meal we chose a wine which was suggested to compliment our choice of meals.

To put it bluntly, everything we ate here was delicious. Having such a friendly team managing the bar and restaurant, made our experience even more pleasant.

Parocks restaurant pursues a creative approach to traditional Greek flavors. Influenced by international gastronomic trends, it serves modern cuisine based on local ingredients.

This is a designers dream. If you're one that appreciates architectual elements, form, light and shadow; you'll notice how much attention to detail was put into the creation of Parocks. This place makes for a perfect couples spot for when you want a breath of fresh air from visiting the busier sides of Greece.

Whilst there are still a few things in the works, this did not impact our experience at all. It's a little further from the main areas of Paros, so I'd suggest to hire a car if you stay here.

A personal takeaway from me - sunrise is a must. Trust me, get up early during one morning of your stay, and you'll be greeted with a sunrise that paints the sky a hue of pinks and reds.
