REVIEW: Siau Ibiza

I don't know about you, but whenever someone mentions a trip to Ibiza - it takes me back to memories of being 18, having a constant hangover from cheap spirits and then spending the entire day at San Antonio beach. Needless to say, it wasn't the most glamorous of holidays at the time. We were young, wanted something cheap and Ibiza was the go-to party destination. Although my first experience didn't really capture the beauty of the island, I knew that at some point I had to go back. Fast forward over a decade, and here enjoying a slightly (a lot) more sophisticated stay.

When AMR Resorts invited me to visit their latest hotel, Siau Ibiza, straight away I booked my flight. The 5-star adults-only hotel is located on the North coast in San Miguel. It's not a giant resort-style place, it's a more laid back luxury boutique hotel. You can see a boho-chic theme run throughout the hotel and it has a very relaxed casual atmosphere.

Sea Junior Suite at Siau Ibiza

We checked into our Sea Junior suite which came with its own private pool, overlooking the main pool of the hotel and with a sea-facing view. The rooms are spacious and come with a lounge area, rainfall shower, LED TV and modern boho furnishings.

One thing to note with our stay is that we were on the My Favorite Club experience by AMR Resorts which you can choose to upgrade to. With this upgrade, you get private check-in/out, access to exclusive areas and a welcome gift. During our stay, we would always come back to a platter of freshly cut fruit.

As we also had the combined Unlimited Experience, we also had food and drinks all included. Typically when you stay at all-inclusive resorts, the only downfall is the drinks. In some cases, a lot of the larger resorts usually water down their cocktails. Now... I wasn't exactly here to have a 'boozy trip', but I do enjoy a well-made beverage when given the opportunity to try. Luckily, because of the size of this boutique hotel, there was a lot more attention to detail put into the experience, and our lovely bartender created some delicious concoctions.

Food-wise, we managed to experience a hearty breakfast at No Joaneta restaurant, offering traditional Ibizan dishes. Alongside lunch at La Savina, their gastro bar with Mediterranean and locally sourced cuisine. Iachimo is their sushi bar which you would need to book in advance as this place tends to book up quickly. If like me, you like to watch the food being prepared - take a seat at the counter. For those that are on the My Favorite Club upgrade, you'll also notice there's another secluded pool area that comes with its only street-food style food truck. Great for those that just want a light bite during the hot weather.

Exploring nature at Siau Ibiza

During our stay, the usual bars and nightclubs in the main areas of Ibiza weren't operating as normal or were closed. Despite this, we actually thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Siau Ibiza. They also had their own entertainment at the hotel, with live music and DJs. Since I was working remotely during my time out there, the size of this hotel and the experience had, made everything such a breeze. I had the option to sit in the open-air lobby with my laptop whilst enjoying some food, or I was also able to work comfortably from the room. A fully equipped gym is also available on-site, you have the sea to explore or you can take walk through nature along the shore.

So, if you're planning your next Ibiza trip and looking for something a bit more chilled and glam, look no further!

This holiday was gently offered by AMR Resorts Europe. All views and opinions here are as usual my own.
